Ring-Tailed Lemur (Katta) - Apenheul (The Netherlands)

Easily one of my favorite animals at Apenheul Zoo.
I'm guessing those lemurs are getting real tired of us humans constantly asking them to "move it, move it".

I envy their tails!
They look so warm and soft and cuddly :meow:

Zijn ze niet super?
En ik zou soms best een staart willen hebben. Zeker zo'n mooie als deze

Wow, what a stunning picture. It seems like the Katta waited just for you to take this picture!
And it's a really beautiful and cute exemplar! Is this "Apenheul"-park recommendable all in all?

Is it possible, that there is a little color fog? It seems like there a some light purple points...

Thank you :3
I'm glad you like the picture.

You're in Germany, right?
If you like monkeys I think it's definitely worth a trip.

Best part about Apenheul is that there aren't any cages with the smaller monkeys.
So you can really interact with the animals, which is awesome.

The squirrel monkeys even sit on your shoulders and check your pockets for food

And I think you're seeing the noise. I had to quickly take this image before he moved, so I chose a programmed camera setting and went for it, hence the 1600 iso

Yes, I'm from Germany and after your explanations I'm sure I'll go to Apenheul someday! It sounds like you can make great experience and take great pictures there. Here are some zoos in which Kattas or squirrel monkeys life in enclosures you can walk through, but I guess in Apenheul thats much bigger...

Yes, there's a forest for the squirrel monkeys, where 140 of them roam freely and interact with the visitors. I have a picture where a squirrel monkey sits on top of my 400mm lens

And the 20 Katta's have a special Madagascar section that they share with Vari's and Red-bellied lemurs. I had the pleasure of experiencing how a Red Vari sat on my lap and started licking the salt of my hands. You kind of tend to hold your breath when something like that happens.

Wow, that sounds cool! I'll really have to go there next year! I think it'll be a special experience to get in such close contact with the animals and it sounds like you can take extraordinary pictures there. :)
